Welcome to Late Career Operator
You're in.
The next brief lands in your inbox Sunday morning. Until then, here's what to expect and a few things worth doing now.
What you signed up for
One focused issue every Sunday. No daily digests, no breaking news alerts, no ten part email courses pretending to be a newsletter. Just a single brief covering one of the following:
- The moves: How experienced operators are structuring board roles, advisory work, fractional gigs, and founder bets.
- The market: What's actually happening in the late career economy, who's hiring, where capital is flowing, what's shifting.
- The mindset: Frameworks for the identity work that comes with the second half of a career.
- The people: Conversations with operators who have done it.
Read in the time it takes to finish your coffee. Reply if something lands or if you disagree. I read everything.
Three things worth doing now
1. Whitelist the sender. The first issue tends to land in promotions or spam folders. Add the sending address to your contacts so you don't miss it. The address will show up in the welcome email you just received.
2. Tell me where you are. Hit reply on this welcome email and answer one question: what's the most pressing question you're trying to figure out about the next chapter of your career? I read every response, and your answer shapes what I write next.
3. Start with the archive. A few past issues worth reading first:
- First article on portfolio careers
- First article on board work
- First article on fractional leadership
If you don't have an archive yet, replace this section with a short note: "The archive is small but growing. Your first issue arrives Sunday."
What this isn't
It isn't motivational content. It isn't retirement planning. It isn't a LinkedIn influencer feed dressed up as a newsletter. It isn't going to tell you to find your passion or build your personal brand.
It's a strategic brief for operators who already know how to operate, and want to operate well for the next twenty years.
Beyond the brief
If you're working through something specific, a transition, a portfolio of roles, a founding chapter, a repositioning, I also work with a small number of executives one on one. Details on the [Contact page].
Otherwise, see you Sunday.
